"A Premier BBQ Event" June 10 & 11, 2011
The "It's A Smokin Good Thang" BBQ Event will consist of a competition professionally judged by KCBS Certified Judges, A Backyard Non Sanctioned Category, and a People's Choice event judged by the public.
The Backyard Category will be open to all teams who want to show their BBQ Talents but don't wish to enter the KCBS Sanctioned event.
The People's Choice event will be for the public to sample and appraise. Those Teams that participate in the People's Choice will be provided pork butt and or brisket by the contest organizer.
Kansas City Barbeque Society rules and regulations will be used only in the Sanctioned Categories.
The Grounds will open at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10. Entry Turn-in times are Saturday June 11th as follows:
- Chicken 12:00 PM
- Ribs 12:30 PM
- Pork Shoulder/Butt 1:00 PM
- Beef Brisket 1:30 PM
Event sites will be pre-assigned 20'x40' allotments. There will be no vehicle movement within the event between the hours of 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM Friday (except for late arrivals) and between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM Saturday.
